I am a ceramic artist in Eastport, ME. I handbuild all of my work and enjoy making functional and figurative pieces for the home and garden. My work is rustic, whimsical and organic. I often mix my own glazes, but recently have gravitated to using slips, engobes and underglazes under clear glazes to decorate my work. My husband and I moved to Eastport the summer of 2024 from Littleton, Colorado with our dogs, Daisy and Merle. In Littleton, I was instrumental in creating the SoSu (South Suburban) Artist Collective, a shared studio space, as well as maintaining a home studio for my ceramic practice. I started my clay journey in Washington, D.C. in 1990 and have had a home studio ever since. I am basically a self taught ceramic artist, but did attend the Institute Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico as well as various courses and workshops with a wide array of clay artists along the way.
