For years we’ve celebrated the charm of Eastport through Paint Eastport Day. This year we are expanding the experience to two magical weeks.

  • Salmon Festival Silent Auction 10am - 2pm.  Tables close 2-3pm.

How to Submit Your Art - NOW through Sept 4th

ARTISTS NEAR (Local artists):

Create and submit up to 3 pieces.

Work does not need to be completed in a single day as in the past.  But in the spirit of David Orrell, we do encourage you to get out and paint Eastport en plein aire this week!

Work should be inspired by Eastport, may be abstract or representational, any medium.

In the spirit of the Salmon Festival, we also encourage artists to include a fish (salmon, sardine) somewhere in the work, fish can be tiny. 

Deliver your artwork to the Eastport Gallery at 109 Water St. this Saturday Sept 4th between 11am-4pm

Photograph and submit the SAME 3 pieces online using the form at left between now and Sept 4th.  If you are unable to complete the form in advance, someone will help you when you deliver your work to the Gallery on Sept 4th.

ARTISTS FAR (Artists currently away):

Create and submit up to 3 pieces.

AUCTION

Works will be auctioned three ways:

  • A silent auction booth of randomly selected works at the Salmon Festival, Sept 5th 10am-2pm

  • A display of local works at the Gallery at 109 Water St., Sept 6th-12th  These works will also be included in the online Facebook auction.

  • An online auction on Facebook, Sept 6th-12th.  Auction closes at 5pm Sept 12th.

At least one work from each LOCAL person will be displayed in the Gallery or the Salmon Festival Booth, more works will be displayed if space allows so bring all your work to the gallery on Sept 4th by 4pm. 

 

All work, except work randomly chosen and sold at the Salmon Festival Silent Auction will be included in the Facebook auction running through Sept. 12th.

Sales will be subject to 70/30 split - 70% to artist and 30% to Gallery, please consider this when setting your minimum bids (reserve price).  Works by youth 12 and under - 100% to artist.

 

Gallery Display

11am-5pm Daily, September 5 - September 12

At least one work delivered from each local artist will be displayed in the Gallery or Salmon Festival booth depending on space available. More works will be included if possible. All works not auctioned at the Salmon Festival can be seen in the auction catalog online. As you view the artwork in the gallery you will be able to quickly bid on an item using QR codes with your phone! Or you can view and bid directly online.

 

How to Participate in the Online Auction

The auction opens Sept. 5 at 9am and closes Sept 12 at 5pm.

An online catalog with links to items will be available at eastportgallery.com on Sept. 5. Bids are posted as comments on the auction page. The last and highest comment on the item post before Sept. 12 at 5pm is the winning bidder.

Special Event: Silent Auction Booth at the Eastport Salmon and Seafood Festival Sept. 5

The booth display will be located at the Salmon Festival from 10am to 2pm. The auction lots/tables will close between 2-3pm with winners announced at 3pm. You may pay and collect your artwork at the Gallery between 3-5pm. The pieces featured at the silent auction will be randomly selected from the artwork delivered to the gallery on Sept. 4th. Work will either be in the Salmon Festival Silent Auction OR the Facebook Auction, not both.  Works unsold at the Salmon Festival Silent Auction will be added to the Facebook Auction.

 

After the Auction

Winners will be notified after bidding closes on Sept 12th.  Art that is in the gallery, and sold to local bidders should be paid for and collected on Monday, Sept. 13.

There will be an additional charge for shipping to non-local winning buyers.  Art by non-local artists will be shipped by the artist and there will be also be an additional charge for shipping.  Payment for art that is being shipped will be through PayPal. Note, the PayPal system allows for the use of traditional credit cards as well as PayPal accounts.
