I began as a potter in Middletown, Connecticut at Weslyan Potters with my outstanding teacher, Betsy Tanzer. There I learned to mix my own glazes, firing oxidation and reduction firing and some raku. Since then, I have done pottery throughout my life. Living in Eastport since 1984, has given me the opportunity to experiment with sea glass in my glazes. Using sea glass as my idea and my stamp, Incorporating it into my work has been a serendipitous, beautiful and challenging part of my work. I love the look of a pool of water in my glazes. The sea glass comes right from Eastport's past on its beaches.
