Amy Ray was born in 1961 in Eastport. These days she divides her time between Eastport and Monmouth, Maine with her husband and two young adult daughters.
She earned her BFA in Drawing with a minor in Art History at University of Southern Maine and her MFA in Painting and Art History at Brooklyn College in New York.
Amy Ray has shown her work in Portland, throughout Maine as well as New York, Texas and beyond. Ray’s work crosses back and forth between landscape and figurative abstraction. She most often works in mixed media on paper.
Amy also dabbles in poetry and prose.
